There’s no shortage of ways to get access to your favorite podcasts these days, and Google Podcasts is one of them. As podcasts have grown in popularity in recent years and months, Google recently made its Podcasts app available on iOS with a new interface, and now, it’s launching a new tool for podcast creators.
Called Google Podcasts Manager, it makes it easier for podcasters to make their show available on Google’s service through a verification process. Once a show is verified, more users can be added to it, making it possible for multiple users to manage the podcast.
Additionally, after a podcast is verified, Google will start providing analytics into the audience’s listening experiences and habits. This includes retention analytics – when a user starts listening and when they stop – as well as how long they listen to that show, the total number of minutes played and unique plays, and more. On top of that, it’s possible to see what devices the listeners are using to tune in to the show – such as phones, tablets, or smart speakers. This can be useful for tailoring content to specific contexts, such as making shorter shows for listening on the go.
Google Podcasts Manager is available today, and Google says it will continue to build on the current feature set to make the experience better.
