Alight Motion on Desktop & Mac: My Quick Test and Thoughts

Hello to Members,

Just wanted to share something random. I tried running Alight Motion on my PC the other night. Didn’t think it’d even open but it actually runs fine.

It’s that Android video editor people use for motion graphics and short edits. I’ve always used it on my phone but editing on a small screen gets annoying. So I grabbed BlueStacks from their site, set it up, and dropped in the Alight Motion APK from here: Alight Motion for PC. Took a few minutes and it worked straight away.

It feels smoother on desktop. Mouse control helps a lot, especially when adjusting keyframes or timing stuff. The big screen makes everything easier to see too. My PC handles rendering faster, so that’s nice.

If you try it, just give the emulator more RAM in settings. Eight gigs worked well for me. And yeah, make sure you use the real BlueStacks site, not some random mirror.

Been using it for a few small edits now and honestly I like it better than on mobile. Not a full replacement for Premiere or Resolve, but good enough for short projects.

Anyone else tried it like this? Curious if it runs the same for everyone.
