Why would you reserve your sympathy for people with the wits to vote in their real self interest. You are judging the people who deserve sympathy the most. The way I see things the reality of consequences is enough. Those sad ignoramuses didn’t make themselves stupid consciously. They were programmed to be stupid in their sleep just as you were to condemn yourself for having faults that your parents or guardians felt made you look stupid and worthy of punishment. No sympathy for them means no sympathy for yourself. Sympathy our the ignorance of others is soul crushing. It means suffering consciously all the self hatred you possess. It means loving again the imagined monster within. Everything that happened had to happen exactly as it did.
