Not gaming a 5600X will be sufficient for most stuff, but you will see a noticble difference when gaming on a X3D.
For video editing, depending on the software used, if its multi core optimized or not, possibly a 5700X or higher maybe a better bet.
Will be using for 5 yrs… neither, i would recommend u get on a modern platform once DDR5 prices have shown somewhat reasonable prices, as a 9000 series ryzen will run circles around both these cpu’s blindfolded with both legs even tied together doing a tummy rub and head pats on top.
EDIT: Forgot, are you using hardware decoding Quicksync with your editing software? Then Dont upgrade unless you have a form of NVEC on a Nvidia GPU. IRIS on intel for hardware acceleration is vastly superior then all cpu’s right now, even the new ryzen, and your better off using the 6700X with the IRIS IGP for hardware acceleration.
