Listening to a specific album in 2013: iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, MP3s via P2P?

I am wondering what the current music consumption trends are.
How do people listen to specific songs and albums these days?

From late 90s to mid 2000s, many power users would pirate the mp3 via P2P (Napster, Kazaa, Soulseek, etc)
For the last few years, many people just go to youtube to listen.
Or, they use Spotify for easy 1-click access to an entire album.

But, if they want to play it in their car via my smartphone, then what?
Do people still use downloaded mp3s?
Is this over? *Do people still collect mp3’s with Soulseek, or is that too risky & dangerous now?
Do most people just buy the mp3 for .99c? Or the entire album for $10?
Please PM me anything you don’t want to post publicly.
