Are progressives a threat to victory for the Democratic Party?

This piece from Politico presents differing views on the debate including this one from a centrist who left a crowded race:

“True leadership means stepping aside and making sure that we coalesce around someone who can win in November,” Democrat Missy Hughes said during a press conference shortly after she suspended her campaign on Monday.

By someone who can win she means a Centrist.

I decided a number of years ago to vote for the Republican running against Dianne Feinstein for Senator of California preferring a real honest jackass over one only supposedly less useless. What good is it if the less objectionable centrist is elected if nothing ever changes or runs downhill anyway? Revolutionary change requires bottoming out. I really don’t care if progressives can’t win, I will vote for one of those in a primary regardless of what the Democratic Party centrists fear…
