Counterpoints:
Many of us can sell our 7800X3D right now for more than we paid for it. Making a profit off of a CPU you have used is not the norm. Some will leverage that to make the 9800X3D a downright bargain for final out of pocket, as they were effectively paid to use their present CPU.
The upgrade everything point is almost comical. For starters: Long time AM4 users say hi! Zen 3 3D is the best bang for buck upgrade for those on the platform. It isn’t primarily AMD users that are eager to upgrade to this CPU, it’s Intel users jumping ship because they got burned with raptor or are on an aging platform and arrow sucks. Which is why the comment made me chuckles; no one understands the necessity of upgrading everything more than Intel users.
