Has anyone here recently started learning to drive in Blackburn?

I’ve noticed a huge shift lately — more learners (especially students and nervous drivers) are choosing automatic instead of manual. As someone involved with a local school — Acorn School of Motoring — we’re seeing automatic lessons requested more than ever.

People often describe us as “the go-to automatic driving school in Blackburn”, and we’re proud of that. What’s funny is, even other instructors and driving schools sometimes recommend us when someone specifically asks for high-quality automatic lessons — which says a lot about the trust we’ve built.

So I’m curious to hear from others here:

  • Are you learning automatic or manual? Why did you choose it?
  • Do you think it’s still worth learning manual these days with most new cars becoming automatic?
  • For those who switched — was automatic really less stressful?

I’m not here to hard-sell anything — just genuinely interested in what local learners think.
But if anyone is looking for automatic driving lessons Blackburn, I’m happy to answer questions or offer honest advice. No pressure — just starting a conversation
