If you’re not planning on building another box out of retired parts (which is something I’ve done often) then the parts are only useful as temporary backups for testing purposes.
You could build a system and donate it to someone needy, or offer the parts free with local pickup on Nextdoor, Freecycle, Facebook Marketplace, craigslist, etc, offer to meet at the closest gas station or other busy public place, and the recipient texts you when they arrive so you’re not wasting the trip for a no-show.
I just hate to think that you’d recycle them as e-waste when they still work and *someone* could make use of them.
I could make use of the 970 if it’s no more than 255mm/10″ long.
