So is that “drive for $5” guy still around?

Been over that for a long time here in lots of parts of Canada if you do the litre conversion. $5/gal is $1.31/litre which is actually considered relatively cheap these days. It’s at $1.49 here now and I’ve seen it go higher. It hit over $2 for a short time years ago.

I still remember before 9/11 when it was under a dollar. 60ish cents maybe, somewhere in that ball park. When 9/11 happen it jacked up past a dollar and they had to upgrade all the signs to add the extra digit. Back then lot of the signs were manual where a worker would climb up to change the numbers.
